About
As senior graphic designer, Rebecca Ruhlman oversees identity and brand management for UIC's 16 colleges, Satellite campuses, and centers.
Mx. Ruhlman most recently served as creative director at Governors State University and they bring to UIC more than 18 years of experience in journalism, media design and management. They've held numerous roles including reporter for The Akron Beacon Journal, Summit County Record Courier and Toledo City Paper; senior campaign writer for Bolonek for City Council Campaign; Publisher of several literary journals including Prairie Margins and Luna Negra; senior digital designer for Vance Publishing, and art director for several not-for-profit diversity organizations.
Mx. Ruhlman received their Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism and mass communication from Kent State University. They also provide graphic support for several hobbyist media content creators and occasionally speaks on transgender and lgb+ issues.
